Preparing exports without listener identities
Before an audit starts, strip personal fields carefully so the listening story remains intact.
A useful listening export keeps session IDs, timestamps, track identifiers, playlist IDs, and subscription tier. It should not keep emails, phone numbers, precise GPS, or payment tokens.
A simple checklist
- Replace account IDs with irreversible hashes generated on your side.
- Drop free-text search strings that contain personal names.
- Aggregate any location fields to city level — or remove them entirely for the study window.
- Document timezone handling so evening sessions are not misread as midday.
