What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember preferences and, when allowed, understand how pages are used.

How Portalhorizon uses cookies

We use essential cookies for basic operation and preference storage. Optional analytics cookies help us understand aggregate visit patterns. Rejecting optional cookies does not block browsing, contact forms, or reading our journal.

Your choice is stored in localStorage under the key portalhorizon_cookie_consent. Details also appear in our privacy policy.

Essential items run regardless of analytics consent. Analytics storage is set only after Accept.

Managing cookies

Use the banner’s Accept or Reject buttons on first visit. To change later, clear site data for portalhorizon.click in your browser settings and reload the page so the banner appears again. You may also block cookies entirely in browser settings; essential site features should remain available, though preference memory may reset.

Third-party cookies

Embedded fonts may be requested from Google Fonts; that request can expose your IP to Google under their terms. We do not load third-party advertising cookies. Image URLs loaded from public image hosts may generate standard server logs on those hosts.

Impact of disabling

Rejecting analytics cookies means we will not set _ph_analytics. The site, audits catalogue, journal, and contact form continue to work. Clearing all storage removes your remembered choice and shows the banner again.
